Ram Ghat is the most revered ghat on the holy Kshipra river and the heart of Ujjain’s riverside rituals. Devotees come here for a sacred snan, the glowing evening Kshipra aarti and rituals for their ancestors.
Where Lord Ram Offered Pind Daan
Local tradition holds that Lord Ram, with Mata Sita and Lakshman, came to this bank of the Kshipra during his exile and offered pind daan for his father, King Dasharath. The ghat carries his name, and to this day families come here to perform rituals for their ancestors on the sacred river.
